Terrorism and Flying

Don't want to be a "debbie downer" but it will happen.  Terrorist will slip through the cracks when it comes to flying.  This is a global issue with some countries not cooperating or not having the funds to fight terrorism.  More than 4 Million people fly daily on 50 thousand flights a day worldwide.  Do you see the problem?  We also have agencies in this country that do not share information and other countries that do not share information.  To have every country on the same page, with the same desire to stop terrorism is impossible given the current global attitude by those that can't or don't want to put a stop to this.  Also you can plug one hole but soon another will open.  Mistakes are inevitable since we are human.  One mistake or a lapse will result in some nut job slipping through the cracks and being able to board an airplane.  The President made the statement that information can not be sat on, it needs to be shared.  Traveling by air is still a very safe way to travel.  As travellers it is wise to stay alert and if something doesn't seem right speak up.

  1. The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one's own country as a foreign land.
